A Path to a More Connected Future

Community - Health - Accessibility

OVERVIEW

The goal of our project is to create an accessible trail for commuting, exercise and recreation. The trail is named "The Turks Head Trail" in honor of the historic name for West Chester. The trail will be 5 miles long and will connect West Chester Borough, West Goshen, Westtown, Thornbury (Chester County), and Thornbury (Delaware County). This multipurpose trail will be perfect for people of all ages who want to walk, jog, or bike. Dog walking under leash will be permitted.

Rails with Trails

This is a Rails with Trails project. The trail will be built along a rail corridor where a tourist train operates seasonally. The corridor is wide enough to safely accommodate both a train track and a trail.

The trail will follow along Chester Creek in a mainly wooded area with plenty of shade. Our gallery shows pics of the landscape and tourist train.
